Cheap lens cap for I-22

Hi!

Just made myself a cheap lens cap for the Industar 22 (collapsible). All you need are coin-capsules (mine had a 33mm diameter, they fit perfectly - brand was lighthouse) and a bit of black paint. I just painted the outer side of the capsule black and that's it. It fits perfectly and doesn't look that bad! (IMO)

don't forget to paint it (on the outer side) because I assure you don't want to burn holes in your shutter curtains (unless you use a Bessa etc.)

ps I've never seen 'coin capsules' before... I assume they are for keeping coins from tarnishing???

Never seen them either. I spent 15 min. the other day brownsing through a camera store's used cap shoeboxes for an I-22/I-50 cap and didn't find one the exact size. I think I'm going to have to make one as well.

you're right, those capsules are for protecting collectible coins. I guess you'll have to buy them in a special collectible store (with stamps and coins etc.).
