cheap point and shoot with manual

i'm planning on taking a train trip soon, and my 6 or so year old canon a520 will be my backup to my iiic. But it's on it's last leg, so I might need a replacement along the way. My only requirement is a manual mode and for less than $200. But it seems no cameras in this price range have manual. I just want something equivalent to my a520. Does such a thing exist?

How about a Powershot a590 (used as they are no longer available new) - the controls are placed rather similar to the a520. They can be had for peanuts on the Bay and you'll still have the viewfinder and manual controls - and AA batteries (personally I really like that, but that might just be me...)

The idea was to have a specific model in mind, so I can always find it while on the road in case mine breaks, but looks like that's not a good idea since i won't ever find what I'm looking for at an electronics store. Viewfinder and AAs would be my next wanted features, but I figure that'd be asking too much. Why have cheaper point and shoots gotten so bad as user cameras?

Might have to go the used option, just don't like buying used electronics unless I get to look at it first hand (and the seller themselves since that tells you something about the condition as well).

If so, nearly all of these are aimed at the amateur market that doesn't care or want selectable shutter speeds or apertures or the need to focus by themselves.

And for the most part, manual controls on a point and shoot are clunky (require a lot of button presses).

Yes, I now realize I should have specified digital. It didn't used to be that way. The canon I'm replacing was on the lower end of cameras at the time and has manual mode. I realize it's clunky, but adjusting shutter speed and aperture on them isn't that bad (at least the older canons). Like I said, I mostly want something as a backup/for times I don't feel like shotting with my leica iiic, but could not justify buying a camera without manual mode. Looks like I'll have to spend a little more or buy used.

I think Kwanon Powershots above younger 4xx model have manual controls, I mean, Av, Tv and M.
