Some years ago, I was shooting only large format and I bought some Arista sheet film (125 and 400 speed) which was Ilford FP4+ and HP5+ - it had the identical identification notches and development times as the Ilford films. It was a lot cheaper though!!

Looks like I'm placing an order with Freestyle!
But then I use trix all the time. Do many here use real trix?

I just bought two 100ft rolls of TRI-X from Freestyle a couple of weeks ago ... if this is TRI-X it's a bargain and I could have saved myself $30.00 or so!
Oh well ... next time!

All the time
- Pan-F & Efke 50 (and some Efke 25);
- Plus-X @ 125 ISO;
- Tri-X @ 400 ISO (& 1200-1600 ISO in Diafine);
- Neopan 1600 @ 1600.
All films developed in 510-Pyro, Pan-F in PC-TEA.

Thanks Keith and Vieri. Looking at the suggested development time for hc110b (my standard developer) I suspect this is neither trix, nor tmax. Freestyle recommends a much shorter time than either Kodak 400 speed film. It's puzzling though, as to who this "major film manufacturer" that makes it in the US, is.

This might be true, but what other major manufacturer make their film in the USA? It says, "Manufactured in the U.S.A." on the Freestyle site and it's on the label of the film can.

Puzzling isn't it. I hope to buy a couple rolls of it next week when Freestyle has it back in stock, and co-develop it with trix. At two bucks a roll, $30 for 100' it could be a very good deal!

I don't really have any loyalties to any particular film, I get what's available and what I can afford. I've just finished 100 feet of Tri-X that I got a deal on, I'd like to use it all the time, but at $Aus60 per 100 feet...
I've just bought 500 feet of Arista EDU ultra for the same as about 250 of Tri-X. I'll be getting some of this Arista Premium to try too, it looks like it pushes better than the EDU (Fomapan 400) which is probably what I'd use it for.

Well - we'll see. I preordered 15 rolls today. Did over the phone, should be here in 5-6 days.
