Now I'm broke because of you. I bought a Mamiya 6MF in like new condition with a 50/4.0. I wanted to keep shooting the square, but I also wanted a wide. Not the same, but in a way a rangefinder is better for the wide.
Because of you I'll have to do more push-ups. My arms aren't so skinny anymore. LOL. Carrying two rigs all day is not a problem, but three is a workout. I'll bring all three cameras to the next Meet-Up, if you are going to show up.

I may be out of town that weekend but its not a sure thing. If I am in town Ill definitely be there!

This is a bump.
Had a great day of shooting the Mermaid Parade. Now my girlfiend is yelling at me because she wants to see prints. I have over 30 rolls that I will try and develope before Saturday, about half is 220 and the reast 120, all B&W.
Check out the other thread about the Mermaid Parade.

This Saturday, 1:00 PM the most southern entrance to the High Line.
For those Long Islanders: From Penn Station take the E train downtown to 14th Street and walk downtown and a little west.

Anyone beside Cal and myself coming?

Turns out I am going away this weekend so I wont be able to come. Looking forward to July and finally being able to get back to one of these meet ups! :bang: :bang::bang::bang::bang:

Not sure if I can make it. I tend to be kicking a ball on saturdays. I may still change my mind though.

We're all light!
Whew, I've been too busy for words with stuff. But, anyway...
- I haven't backtracked through the thread far enough to see if we'd settled on a date yet, but I strongly suggest the 26th (Saturday), because, in the case of inclement weather, all the galleries in the area are open. I'm still compiling a list of exhibits now on, but, among other things, we have a retrospective of Monet's early works, and a series of photo-realistic collections, among others. More info in a day or two.
- According to the National Weather Service, Saturday's weather looks reasonably good, but I've long since taken those long-range forecasts with the proverbial grain of salt. Hope springs (okay, summers, as of today) eternal.
Hell, I'll even throw in some lore about the High Line while we're walking it (the New York Central was my "home" railroad, after all). I might have two interesting "door" prizes (albeit without a door, but we'll cope, right?).
This will be about as New York as it gets, gang.

Hey Barrett,
Thanks again for your help. You have been an anchor to this Meet-Up.
Hey Damaso, When you say "garden" do you mean beer garden or flowers and trees. What's a good date for you in July?

I mean beer garden! I am gone from the 28 of July to Aug 3rd. Other than that I am pretty free most weekends...

I thought so. LOL.
Also we need to hook-up so you can see that Berenice Abbott display. Let me know a good time for you. No stress.
Barrett: The day is the 26th of June, a Saturday. We meet at the most southern end of the High Line at 1:00 PM.

Sorry guys, I can't do it that saturday. I must be at the violin shop the all day. Too bad, I was really waiting for that one.
I'll go on my own Sunday to Chelsea, same time, with my M8 to take pictures and I will put it on Flickr.
Have a great time there.

Looks like Saturday isn't a good day for most people. We'll have to move it back to Sunday for the July one.

I did. I used a Rolleiflex 3.5F that just came back overhauled from Harry Fleenor and my "new" Tele Rolleiflex. You've been away a while.
I made good use of my skills from using a Nikon F3 with MD4 motor drive with the pole dancer. A pirate on an oversized tricycle towed a trialer that had a stripper pole set up on it.
The girl jumped up onto the pole-click; Pulled herself higher-click; locked her legs around the pole-click; hung herself upside down-click; grabbed the pole to support herself-click; and then slowly went spead eagle upside down to form a full frame crucifix. I thought I was a tease, but this girl was an obvious pro. It was another outa control moment like the January Meet-Up.
In another shot this tall blonde wearing a see-through body suit does the "runway" action. She sees the Rolleiflex, walks toward me, stops ten feet away; turns sideways to strike a pose; and when I fire my shutter, she walks away. The bright sun made her clothes disapear BTW, and she was not only lanky thin she was just like a runway model.
I also decided not to move, and I am in the process of setting up my darkroom. Yesterday found a 50/2.8 Schneider Componon and 80/5.6 Componon lenses at B&H to go with my vintage Nippon El Nikkor 50/2.8. Only developed 12 rolls of 120 and I have another 25 to go (about half 220). To post I'd have to ask Barrett or Jeff to scan. I expect I'll have wet enlargements by the July Meet-Up.

This is a bump. Hope to see you tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Meanwhile tonight I have 12 rolls of 220 and 8 rolls of 120 to develope. 5 liters of ID-11 will be consumed, hopefully. Can I do it? Find out tomorrow.
