Insert another couple of pages at the front after the cover.
On the page facing your title insert a full page picture.
Have a white(?) title page with the text setout replicating the front cover.
This might mean losing a couple of pictures but, I think, will make the book better 'finished'. Class photos deserve a class setting!

If it was my book, and it isn't, I might insert two more pages with text.
Possibly a list of photo locations, possibly an introduction/explanation of what the book contained, how, why, and with what. But then the book goes into another dimension and begins to 'stand on its own' - all just me, of course.

Thanks, yes I can insert some extra blank pages no problem, but I'm not able to have a photo on the inside cover unfortunately (software/printing won't allow)
How does this look? I'll have a think about the text page tomorrow...

Love what you did with what is now pp. 40-41 (chairs), 36-7 (curves and transportation), 34-35 (friends, lakes)... that's what I was trying to say.
I am horribly jealous of your photographic talent BTW. I am over-compensating by nitpicking your book. 😉

I really like your work, but agree that the book seems crowded. If you are up against it financially and don't want to pull photos, maybe arrange the pages with two photos with smaller images offset a bit from each other. Now, you know that I don't know what I'm talking about.

I have a bit of an introduction and an index of the images at the back. The text is font sized 10 so it'll be small but neat in the final book. I had to keep the index as three pages (hence font sized 10) because anything over 70 pages and I can't have the 'premium' quality paper option, which is very nice to have.
I used the same sized font in my introduction as I thought it flowed better with it being the same.

This testifies your enthusiasm for photography, but otherwise it is like looking into a washing machine when it does the centrifuge.
Divide the photos thematically.
See which ones you like best.
Reduce the number of photos to 7.
That will be a good start.

This started off looking really good and it's even better now.
Got to say, I'm still loving the 2+1 (or 1+2) layouts more than the 2+2's.
I see what you did on pp. 18-19... music themed, "Piccolo" - very clever. 🙂
Nitpicks - borders. The black borders on pp. 31, 45, and the white ones on pp. 46, 63 seem out of place to me. The ones on p. 54 (Polaroid?) and 70 I like though (the assembly and comp on p. 34 is very clever). Some of the other borders look just fine to me so maybe I'm talking nonsense.
I really, really like your notes pages at the back. Nice to have the shooting details and titles available, without cluttering up the photo pages themselves. This is a great idea that I will probably steal. 😀

The reason some shots have boarders is that the full page pictures aren't quite 4x6 format, so they end up getting cropped, and in those shots you mention it really messes them up.
The boarders on P46 and 63 are because the pictures are actually scans of prints. I can move them about in their frames slightly so I can eliminate the right hand border on the frame of P46 but I can't lose the top and bottom as I can't resize the pictures to any size I like.

The number of characters on a line of text for easy scan reading is about 70, and that includes punctuation and spaces. I think your lines on p2 are too long!
NEVER leave just one word on a line! - it's called a 'hanging widow'. Add an extra word or delete a word or rewrite to avoid this.
I came to the conclusion a long time ago that you can never be completely satisfied with a book. You have to decide 'that's it' at some point.
However I suggest you do all you can by the end of this week, and then put it aside for at least a week, before you look again. And spell-check. And get someone to read through ALL the text to see if it makes sense to them as well.
Then print!

Couldn't agree more about the 'cooling off' period. It's something I always do when mixing music, too. Spend every waking moment doing it and you end up chasing your tail.

Nice. Some real standout groupings for me are the car diptych on p. 8, the landscapes on 12-13, roads on 16-17, music theme on 18-19 (still love that 'Piccolo' awning 🙂), wedding layout on 24-5, the chairs on 40-41, the photographer (you I guess?) + cameras, and the car bits on 52-3.
Didn't mention before, but the cover image is really, really strong. Solid chairs, geometric lines, works perfectly as a cover.
The logos are a nice touch, and I like the signed Polaroid portrait on the back pages. Cute touch. 🙂

p3 still doesn't look right to me!
Better but ....
I think the text block is too wide and I would have a look to see what happened if it was 2/3rds the width. I think the 'problem' is short paragraphs on a very few text lines but .....
