What batteries for a Leica CL?
I read in the manual that mercury were the originals.
What to use now?
Thanks.

Wein cell batteries are 1.35v Think the same voltage as the mercury ones
Check out Ebay for them
You could also have the meter adjusted for 1.5v if needed and then pick from a number of these

You can get the Wein fresher from Adorama or B&H or Calumet and a number of other suppliers. They're about $6.50 each. The mercury batteries lasted for years; the Wein zinc air last about six months. That's the downside.

Check out this web site (http://www.paulbg.com/Nikon_F_meter_batteries.htm) for a battery adapter that will work in the Leica CL and allow you to use a common battery. Worked very well for me when I had a CL.
