cl chat

add me to the CL club.. I picked mine up this weekend.. it's sweet!

Stuart, what's DAG charging for a CLA on the CL?

Does it really get flack though? Perhaps when it came out, but I have not really seen many M owners disparage it. Perhaps it was the whipping boy before the Bessas came along...
But I will say that when I was in the post office getting ready to send it to DAG, this giant blonde bombshell comes up to me and says: "Wow, those Leicas are so beautiful!" So, I think the CL it least has some family resemblence in the eyes of some people.

Joe -- I believe it was 185, but it might have been 150. I am not quite sure because I needed to replace the spool, which was 30 dollars, and I cannot remember if that was included. I think it was 185 for the full CLA and conversion, not including parts, but I could be wrong.

Man, I'm another new member of the CL club -- just picked mine up (a Leitz/Minolta version) this morning. Very much looking forward to using it. I'll look forward to hearing others' experiences.

you guys have me itching to play...

mine should be in the mail today, the little 35/2 is waiting. i took it out last night and rubbed it for luck😉
i don't think i'll miss having a 40 as i just like that canon 35 so much.

but the 28 is looking good too...

indeed 😀 no idea why though (not that i'm complaining). that was for the body only since the lens was fine. maybe it just needed less since it was in such great shape?!

heading off to the post office now btw...

Well, just for inspiration, here are two shots of some very odd trees at my local park. Both were taken on the CL, one with the 40/2, and the other with the 75 summicron. The 75 summicron seemed to focus ok, even close up and wide open.

Also, that 75 cron bokeh has really impressed me! No ASPH harshness (though I must admit that I think that that issue is overblown).

maybe it's just the newness of my CL, but I have to admit that it practically leaps into my hands.. I'm not sure I ever felt that way about my M3.. that was more of a thing of beauty to admire.. the CL seems more of a thing to play with.. as seen here

I do find that because it fits a jacket pocket perfectly, it ends up going along all the time if I'm not planing on shooting. Gotta find me a lens cap for the 40/2 though.

It's kind of funny how this camera has taken off around here of late... 🙂

I hope you find mine! The first day I got it, I went and walked around the park for an hour or so, and when I got back, it was gone! I searched all over the park and I still can't find it, so I am really upset. The first lens cap I have ever lost just has to be a obscure, nearly impossible to find and 40 bucks if you do type cap.

why do the clubs always start AFTER i sell something?! :bang:

this kind of talk brings about much regret. 🙄
to drive up prices, of course!

I somehow managed to keep my cap for nearly 6 months.. but I have no idea where it is now.. I'm definitely on the market for a new one, if anyone has suggestions
