I have bought a CL and put a new battery in it ( I know it may need adjusting) but I can't seem to get the meter to work.
How does one operate it?
Should I get mine seen to and adjusted at the same time?
How many people use their CL with the meter and how many don't?

If it doesn't work, it's not that big of a deal. Eventually I'll get mine adjusted, but at present I have no battery in mine and use my Sekonic L28C instead or else Sunny 16 it.

i hate to admit this but i like the cl a bit too much, i think.

if i take only one camera with me, most days, it's the cl.
i'm having a ball shooting the 90 on it.
need to process some of the film to make sure it all works well together.

One thing to keep in mind as well is that your standard px625a battery will not work properly. The CL was designed for use with Mercury batteries, which are no longer readily available. You have a few options -- you can buy the expensive Wein cells that are a substitute for the mercury ones, but only last a month or two, or you can have the camera converted to run on px 625a's during your next CLA. It is not that expensive. Overall, I have only moderate confidence in the meter on the CL, and as such I have mostly been using negative film with it. Most of the slides I have shot with it come out under exposed, despite the CL being fresh from a CLA.

Thanks for the advice Guys, back alley was on the money and it looks like it has allready been adjusted so I'm off to stick another roll of film in it an will see how it goes, I have a CV meter which i will use to keep an eye on how the CLs meter is going.
