Cl with screw mount adaptor?

Hi,
This is my first post. I've recently got my CL kit out of mothballs (purchased new 1973 in Germany with 40 and 890 mm lenses). Thanks to this forum I got the meter battery situation sorted, and to my delight found it was still working fine.

I'm wondering if anyone has advice about using a screwmount to M series adaptor on this camera. I've found a Voigtlander 25mm f4 Snapshot Skopar on eBay and am hoping that this screwmount lens would work with my Cl. Any advice or comments most welcome.

Welcome aboard. Should not be a problem. I used a 15/4.5 and a 50/1.5 on my CL with adapter. Only thing that can create a problem is if the lens is too deep and blocks the meter arm. That is why I think you cannot mount a super angulon on a CL. Never had a 25/4, but I would not expect problems with that lens.

I had a CL for quite a few years and used a few 25mms, Canon 25, Nikon 25, Zeiss 25 and Voigtlander 25 on my CL with no problem. Good luck and enjoy a very sharp lens.

Hi,

I hope I'm not stating the blindingly obvious but the adapters can sometimes stick.

Luckily the old rear lens caps (black plastic with grey plastic interior) have three "pimples" on them that engage with the notches on the adapter to free it. It's a useful tool to have, even though the grey plastic often fails and makes it useless as a lens cap.

I'm assuming you've read the list of what not to fit on the CL...

I regularly use a CV25/4 on my CL with no problems... often without the finder.

It's a great compact combination... and a super street-shooter.

No problem with a Leica 135mm adaptor that I use with my Canon 135 sm lens from time to time.
