I would like to know if the M7 need CLA less often then the M6TTL?
How can I know when the M7 needs CLA?
Also- can you please recommend a good place to get CLA for M7 in U.S.A?
Thank you!

Unless you are a professional that must assure that his/her equipment work on assignment or in the studio, I would not have a CLA done until I experienced a problem with any Leica M, M3, M6 or M7. Electronics are not subject to degradation such as mechanical components and if the device is working correctly, there is no need to replace and indeed there is no way to determine when and if an electrical component will fail. Electronic components do age and can and will fail over time but unless you establish a tracking program noting the batch # of the component and the specific application in a specific piece of equipment, you can't tell the future. The best you can do if you have a tracking program is to say that this specfic component has a high failure rate and to avoid failure, should replaced where ever it was used.
Relax, use you M7 until it fails to work properly.
For service, the M7 is a littlel different than previous M's and right now I would only have Leica, N J service my M7 due to its electronic shutter. I don't know if any others such as DAG are set up to service the M7.-Dick

It seems like they've been around longer, but the M7 was only just introduced in 2002 and I know no one who has had a CLA done on one. About a year ago Don Goldberg ("DAG") told me he had only actually seen a hand-full of them (up until that time).
There is really no reason I know of that an M7 should ever need a CLA, but only time will tell.
