I just used the Repair Forum to look up a way to hold the shutter open on my Olympus Trip 35 and set the infinity focus. It would have taken me a long time to figure it out otherwise (if at all)- THANK YOU for saving this resource.

I want to express my gratitude as well. I frequently did research on their forums and used one of the articles that is still up last night. I hope a solution is found but am glad you stepped up to try whatever happens.

I was thinking earlier today about how years ago I would read cameraquest, never being able to afford really any of the cameras, but I loved to read your site, Stephen. There was only you and Rockwell, photonet and the LUG (ugh), seems like. I really appreciate what you put into it for all of us.

We are still working in importing the old data into RFF's software -
will probably have that decided in the next week.

Let me drop a link someplace and see if anyone there can help.
We have hit a wall importing the repair forum in to RFF as a working forum. We have the script that reputedly works, but it just bogs down and dies during the importation.
So the Camera Repair Forum will appear as an archive at RFF, until at such time we are able to fully import it.
It is now accessible from the RFF Home Side Menu
as Classic Cam Repair

Stephen, thanks so much for preserving this information, especially since the migration process was not without its problems. Searching the Classic Camera Repair Forum Archive
One nice result from making the old Classic Camera Repair archive visible on the web is that it allows the big search engines to index the postings. That means that you can do a search using Google which is actually a lot quicker than what the original site search engine provided. To see how this can be done effectively to retrieve all the postings for a term such as "retina", go to Google and in the Google search box put the "site:" modifier along with the archive url followed by a space and the desired search term. Thus:
The advantage of limiting the search using the "site:" restriction is that you avoid getting a search result which includes a lot of irrelevant junk from all over the net.
In order to further simplify the searching of the CCRF archive I have put together a small html form widget which permits entry of the desired search terms and retrieval of the relevant postings by just clicking a "submit" button. The CCRF search widget can be found in the right-hand column on my blog by scrolling down past the "Popular Posts" list. Anyone who wants to use this search widget on their own blog or web site is welcome to copy and paste the page source html code.
