classical guitar info please

Does anyone here have knowledge about nylon stinged guitars? I'd like to buy one but don't have a clue about which brands are good and which aren't worth buying. I'm looking to spend less than $300. At this low end, I think it's especially important to know what's what. WI don't mind buing used so with a bit of knowledge, I'll know what to look for on ebay or Craigslist, and what to stay away from. Thanks in advance.
