It seems to me that the classified section has a significant number of posts for items that have been sold, or are no longer available for one reason or another.
Shouldn't there be some requirement that these adds be removed as soon as they are no longer available?
It might shorten the numbers of pages.
Also, while I'm at it, what is the point of all the posts in this same section that say things like "... WOW!, what a deal..." and "... wish i could afford it!"? Is this just trying to 'hype' the items?
This is a waste of time for all, i think, and a waste of space, at the least.
That's my POV!

I try to mark mine sold - using the built in tool, as soon as the transaction is completed.

I thought they automatically were cleared after a certain time anyway tho. ?

and you're still new here.
this is an old story for many members, some on opposite sides.
some like the ads removed as soon as the item is sold. and some like the ads to stay so prices can be checked in the future.
it's a typical no win situation...

No problem Dave, vent away.

It is up to the seller to mark their items sold, or delete their ad if the item is no longer available. There also is a time frame they select after which the item is automatically deleted.

I'm guilty of leaving "wow!" comments myself, but figure it can't hurt to show enthusiasm (and as Michiel said, to help others determine that the item is being offered at a good price).

I used to think the "wow! what a deal!" comments were pretty lame and a waste. I thought, hey, anyone could post those comments to "fluff" their ad. But then I participated more in the community here and got to know people more. Now when someone I respect (their knowledge, their photographic skill, etc.) comments it means something and can be helpful (or hurtful, to my wallet). I think the ads should be marked SOLD and left there. Great database of used prices (and to lament on those deals or equipment we missed!)
