You can now post wanted and trade ads.

If you update your profile on the forum with your location, the location will show in the ad.

Can you post more than 5 images in your ad, like on the old forum? And can you respond to people posting comments on your ad?

Best,
-Tim

I will bump the images up to 10

you can post a reply in the comments. they are all sequential

Any way to get our scores back from the old site, our selling scores and comments folks made about buying items from us?

Best,
-Tim

Good evening MP Guy. Well, I've tried to place a classified ad twice now this evening, and both times, after I have filled in all the info, typed my whole ad, added my ten photos, and pressed the Post Ad button, the site crashed and gave me the space monster page with Error 404.

https://www.rangefinderforum.com/services/ad/

Kind of a bummer as I've been working on this ad all day on my end. Hope you get this fixed soon, or can tell me the way to actually place an ad on this site.

Best,
-Tim

PS: Finally got it to work. Had to upload only one photo at a time, then edit and add another photo, then edit and add another photo, repeat seven more times, or it would crash.

Ok. Good to know. That will be an apache configuration. Will address that tomorrow. It's late now but I do know what the issue is.

Ok, a few updates. Now you will be notified when selected file is too big for uploads. That way no black hole errors.
You can now select who pays for shipping.
Make sure to up update your rff profile Location so it also shows up in the ad.

What happened to the Items for under $100 at a cost of $3.00 (cost was $1.00 for the past year) ?

Unlike most sites, we discounted the our prices on Classifieds rates for over a year due to COVID.
(did you see COVID rate discounts on ebay or Amazon? eh.... no)

With the US economy getting back on track COVID discounts are over.

Again I ask that this somehow be added. I personally always took a lot of comfort from the comments and ratings and most of my gear was purchased through RFF. I also had a long history with 100% positive. I intend to sell some of my pristine gear soon and that would help me immensely. Thank you.

Not every buyer pays attention to Classified feedback. Most sellers have Ebay feedback they can refer buyers to. But if its that important to you, someone has to pay for the tech labor. Considering the new classifieds were written from ground up, its a wonder we have classifieds at all this quickly after the transfer to the new site.

Individual feedback can be transferred (but not exactly) for $50 to $100 per member depending upon how much feedback there is to transfer.

Full payment goes to the tech, ie George.

Good Morning MP Guy. Thanks for your help trying to sort the new classifieds out. I'm feeling like a beta tester.

Here's an issue I ran into this morning. As per what is written when you post an ad, you are allowed ten images, not to exceed a certain MB limit, and you can take an image down and put another one up in its place. That's not really working. I tried to exchange an image on my ad, and when I went to remove one image, by clicking the ghosted garbage can (X) in the lower right corner of the image, nothing happened. I clicked it a number of times and still nothing happened. So I closed out my browser and opened back up again and the image was gone. Seems all good. Then I tried uploading the replacement image (310K in size, the same size as the image removed) and I'm getting the blue segmented pulsing bar of death, and nothing uploads. I let it pulse for 20 minutes, and still nothing uploaded. So we can sort of remove images from our ads, but can't replace them with another image. At least that is my experience this morning.

Thanks MP Guy.

Best,
-Tim

PS: I was able to eliminate two more images by not clicking "Edit Ad" but by just clicking the red "X" on each image. But when I tried to go in and edit the content of the ad (to note that one of the four cameras listed has already sold), I also got the blue segmented pulsing bar of death, and the ad did not change.

I 100% agree with this and really really would love to have my feedback scores back. It was my main source of gaining trust in future sales/purchases and I, and many others here have spent years and years accumulating good reputations in buying and selling thousands of dollars worth of items. It's nearly impossible to build this back up, so if there is any way to retrieve it from the past gen site, and add it to our user profiles, it would really mean a lot to some of us.

I would absolutely pay for this. All of my high end purchases are here on RFF and not on Ebay. Please keep us updated! Thank you

The classifieds home page list view has been updated to show the ads similar to that of the ebay list. It call it the summary version. You can switch between the thumbnail grid look and the list view by simply clicking on the icon near the top that looks like a grid or list.
