I have have had an Epson V700 for a few years now and it has worked fine so far but recently some mould stains have appeared on the inside of the glass (mainly the lower one) due to the humid climate.
Since I don't trust much the Epson service center here, I was wondering if anybody had experienced cleaning it on their own. Is it something that can be done, or do you really need to bring it to a service center?
Many thanks to all

It is very easy to clean the glass yourself. Begin by removing the top half of the scanner. Once this is out of the way you'll see plastic plugs which cover the screws which hold in the glass frame. Pop off the plastic covers with the tip of a knife, remove the screws, and lift off the frame with the glass. The whole operation only takes 5 or 10 minutes.

... likes film again.
You can remove the four cover-plugs very easily with Scotch-tape also.

I put it off for a long time but once I cleaned it, it was much improved! PITA though.

Thanks to all. What about the glass of the upper half? Can it be removed as well?
