Fixed two more cams this week. An Ansco Speedex 4.5, and an Agfa Silette with the Schneider-Kreuznach 3.5/45 Radionar.

I almost passed this one by. It was missing the frame counter, and the winding lever had been glued on.

The focus was frozen, and the second element had backed out of the mount. However, it did not have the Bayer grease, and the shutter cover locking ring was not secured, so someone had been in this camera before.

I separated the lens, cleaning the old lubricant off; repaired and cleaned the Pronto shutter (the cocking rack was out of alignment); cleaned the viewfinder; and replaced the frame counter from a camera I had scrapped.

The winder has a bit of a drag problem, and try as I might, I couldn't figure out why. It just means you have to physically return the lever to its resting position, as it will not spring back.

The Radionar should give good results, as I've got one in a Kodak Retinette IIa that I'm happy with. It's a triplet like the Apotar.

A 120 6x6 format folder in the open position, showing the Agnar 4.5/85 triplet lens.

This camera had the dreaded Bayer grease, and the lens was really stuck. The second element housing/focus helical backed out with the front element, necessitating a soaking in alcohol for several days. I didn't have to apply heat to this one, as they came apart easily.

The Vario shutter is in good shape, so I didn't bother it, and the bellows are light tight.

Nice job! It is always very encouraging to see these solid old shooters being put back into service. I have quite a backlog myself, including a couple of very deserving Ansco/Agfa products that are calling to me at the moment.
