collapisible 50mm lens on CL?

Is it ok to use i-22 and other 50mm collapsible lenses on a CL? Does one need to tape or do something to prevent the lens from collapsing into the guts of the body?

The CL meter is already trashed, but I don't want to damage it further.

Great page of info. covering the leica family of lenses.

If I can't sell my LTM lenses, I think I will try the test of opening the back with the shutter open and seeing if any of the lenses come back near the shutter or any other obstacles. I don't like the tape idea, it seems that tape cam come lose, and possibly the back of the collapsible lens will rip into the shutter.

Does anyone know if a Jupiter 8 fits on a CL? Thanks!

The collapsible Summicron will collapse safely on a CL. I verified that with DAG. It's my daily use lens and I haven't had any trouble with it. I believe that it is the only collapsible that will work.

Also, only the Jupiter 12 won't work at all of the FSU lenses. The collapsibles will work well enough, but you can't collapse them. I have a Jupiter 3 & 8 that I occasionally use on my CL.

Official from Leica: any other collapsible lens needs to be modified using 13 and 7 mm Dymo tape.
