I love this lens very much. It was my second Leica lens. Somehow I sold it later to try other lenses such as Summicron Rigid and Summilux 50 v2. But still it delivered the best texture and greyscale among all the lenses I have tried.

M2, 5cm Summicron Collapsible and HP5+. I expect both of these would have been at f2.

I've started to really come around to the Cron Collapsible, especially for people.

When I saw the picture of the little boy (possibly your son?) I thought it was my little dude. Looks eerily similar.

Thanks all for a great thread. Reminds me I need to dig out my ltm collapsible and shoot with it. Thanks also to Chris for putting in the film and developing information. For a while, I thought I was the only one here still using D-23.

No problem! I’m a tinkerer and play with a lot of different stuff. Kinda pricey when it comes to playing with different Leica glass. Lol. I actually think D23 is my most used lately. My last roll I used hc110 just because I didn’t have any D23 mixed and I was in a hurry.

Some real lovely photos in this thread!

I'd love to get ahold of one of these, but I've got a 50mm cron v4 on my M4 that works just fine and have no real need or money for another 50. The biggest issue seems to be finding a clean copy though - they've all got cleaning marks/fungus/haze from what I can find.

I found an excellent copy on KEH and paid a pretty penny for it. I
Won’t ever let it go either. I will get my CLA’d user copy go thought! Just haven’t listed it yet.

nice images above!

i stumbled on mine in the B&H used store. it was priced unusually low, so i took a chance and ordered it. much to my surprise, it had perfect glass. i suspect the prior users used filters at all times. the only downside being that the "key" inside was old or worn out, so it had quite a bit of wobble when focusing. a quick trip to DAG fixed that up. couldn't be happier.
