Is Collectible Cameras (formerly Ritz Collectible Cameras) easing out of the old camera business ?

I was browsing their site this evening, and was surprised to see no LTM gear (at least Cameras and lenses), no Exakta, very little Contax RF, etc.

I have noticed their inventory was getting smaller these last couple of years... 🙁

Not sure what is happening there these days -- they gave up their retail/walk-in location a few years ago and are mail-order only, so I haven't been there in a while. Maybe you can give them a call and report back 🙂

I might do that... their stuff wasn't the cheapest, but I was happy with the quality of the gear I purchased from them.

It was also fun to browse their inventory on-line...

Also noticed last night that KEH's inventory is a little slim on the LTM & Contax RF these days...

Is it at all possible that the gear is heading straight overseas? I know a local dealer who says he can fetch quite a bit more by selling in China.

I bought my second Leica from them. It was incredibly clean and pristine, and it was a quick delivery too: a black M6TTL.

Ritz is going out of business. They are selling off stock and not buying new.

Helix in Chicago has gone from 3 story retail to internet only. Calumet closed.

2 problems. Sales are down in general. And people shop the internet. My local store tells me they could not start their business again. They only exist because of a dedicated client base.
