... Do you have one?

I'm of pre M age, born in 1952, and I have a Leica IIIf RD and a 35mm F/3.5 Summaron that are as old as I am.

My M3 (see my icon) was born same year as me, 1959.

I didn't plan that, it's just a happy co-incidence.

To echo ferider, I got it to use, not as a collectible.

Randy

P.S. Kind of a creepy thought - if the camera breaks, what will happen to me?

1979 was a bit late for most of the cameras I find interesting (rangefinders, TLRs, folders, etc). I'm sure I'm missing something, but the XA is the most interesting so far and... we didn't get along too well. :)

Just got myself a 40 years birthday present:
a very clean M4 for the batch a few months away from my birth date (Thanks Bob;))

My Leica M3 double stroke was made before I was a month old, as is Type 1Rigid Summicron that was on it.

With 50 plus RF lenses, I am bound to run into a lens that was made in 1955.
Still, My Rolleiflex 2.8D was made in 1955.
1955 is my favorite year. Great vintage stuff was created then.
Guess what ... I was born in 1955! What a coincidence!

I have spent a little time looking for one that was made in 1938, but I bought a Leica II and a Summar lens that were made in 1935. I just got the camera back today from DAG. We are all ready to go. Jim

I don't know and I could care less. This forum has some of the silliest posts I have ever seen.

I mean, really, think about it- look at some of the posts on here and tell me if I am wrong.
