Color Skopar 28/3.5 Aperture ring loose?

I recently bought a Color Skopar 28/3.5. The aperture ring has a fair amount of play side to side and seems a little loose. Are they normally like this or could this down to wear? If not can they be easily adjusted? The lens is in excellent condition.

Sounds wrong. My example has very light aperture detents (which seems to be a common feature of at least the early generation of VC lenses) but is otherwise tight and free of play.

Peter (monopix) kindly fixed all the images earlier this year to make sure it's all intact. Hope that would help!

Fairly common in my experience. Not just with the 28/3.5, but with other screw mount Voigtlander lenses as well. If the aperture mechanism is working correctly, its nothing to worry about though.

Thanks for your replies. The aperture ring works fine - but would prefer it without the play. If it's not too big a deal to tighten!

Had it re tightened and its now perfect - the 50/2.5 aperture ring is getting looser now!
