Color Street Photography

There is no question that color could be the subject of a photo essay, especially when it is in the area of fashion or architecture.

But as a single photo like the shoes on the street, it varies, I suppose. I sat on the train yesterday next to a woman with long bright blue hair, any photos of her in color would seem to point to her hair, even if aimed elsewhere.

I only shoot for color, which means color is my subject. Viewers might not agree but for me, who only shoots for color now, color is my subject -- unfortunately, because its damn hard to shoot for color on the streets.

In 6 years of consistent street photography I have less then 80 'keepers' and perhaps 30+ for a final selection. That sucks. After a few days I'll be running out of photos to post in this thread...

80 photos in 6 years is not bad, for such a very specific mindset.

Not sure the authenticity of the item but it was seen in a pile of metal decors for sales at Raleigh, NC Flea Market 5 years ago.

rogazilla you are originally from Taipei?

Grew up in Taipei but have not been back since 2007. I also lived in Phillipine for a year. I miss it. That mail boxes doesnt look like the ones I remember :)

Had some films that I took when I was growing up there and I can see if family hasnt thrown them out and I will scan and see how I did back then versus now. Have a plan to visit next year.

2007? So I guess you already must have seen this place then, I understand that it has become one of the landmarks of Taipei
