Color Street Photography

You are right his work on his web site shown on your other post (I responded to the wrong one) is terrific. A great eye. My only advice to him (if I am qualified to give it) is keep on doing what he is doing as it is excellent but also don't be afraid to experiment. I find that experimentation is needed over time to avoid the eventual "rut" we all get into.

thank you very much Peter, good advice.

Victor had noticed increased traffic to his site and thought that I had linked it some place, sent him the link to here yesterday. He is very pleased by your reaction. Right now he is very focussed and knows exactly what he wants.

haha, yes, thank you. This one is sure is almost like a copy. I know little about famous photographers, I believe Victor knows better. ;)
other photos of Victor imo have similarities with some photos by Saul Leiter, though Victor takes his to his own, often more extreme reduction of elements.

I like your photos and your approach to people you meet.

thank you very much Robert!
for me communicating with my subject and having that part of the theme is the most natural and respectful, also joyful and interesting way. Since generally my approach seems little done or recognized I am very happy about your comment, thank you.

These are nice, Peter. I vote that you continue down this path for awhile to see where it leads you (and us). :)

Lately for better or for worse I have been experimenting with a somewhat textured, "grunge' approach to color street. Something of an artistic painterly "take" I suppose. In any event I will see where it leads or whether I persist.

I had missed Jamie Piller's kind words of encouragement below (not sure when his words were posted but thank you Jamie).

But in any event here are a few more textured or otherwise manipulated and post processed color street shots.

Thanks, Peter. Very kind of you. I have very good memories of the time I spent there. Canon DSLR's with the EF-S17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM; the EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM, and the EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.

I should have added this one...taken in the last remaining Soviet style department store... I think with the EF-S17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.

Quick pics with a compact digital in colour are my favourite type of Street Photography. Here are a few using a Fuji Xe2s/27mm from Montreal. I try to grab the little "insignificant moments" that catch the eye.
