Well, I've seen these threads from others before, and I guess it's my turn. I thought I had a roll of AGFA Scala in my in M6, but it turns out it was Neopan 1600. So, I'm going to get some well over exposed pics unless I can figure out how to pull it. I use D76 1:1 at 20C, normally.

Looking at the Massive Dev Chart here, I can see times ranging from EI 3200 down to 400. Should I just do some math and try to figure out what the time for 200 would be? It would need to be so short, I'm worried about not getting the right time and messing it up. Any tips? Anyone else ever make a similar mistake? Should I just try to develop it at 400 and go for that Ralph Gibson look?

I've used this film/ISO combo to control huge contrast ranges in the woods- I always used Microdol-X 1:1, 10 1/2 minutes, 20 seconds of agitation, followed by 2 inversions every minute, with no agitation the last two and a half minutes. You could just use normal agitation if you're not trying to flatten out the scene- tho it will be a bit flat- this is quite a pull. Perceptol is about the same, I'd compare some Microdol-X and Perceptol times to correct for the change of brand if needed.

Fujifilm's pdf files show that the Neopan1600 is only 2/3 of a stop faster than Neopan400, so it's really 640. It tolerates overdevelopment to get to a pseudo-1600.

Given that Neopan400 is marvelous at 200, your Neopan1600 should be exposed at 320 or so to get decent shadow detail. So you're really not far off. They might be the best negs you've ever done, even. Roger's suggestion to use a speed-reducing developer would get you even closer to perfection.

While out north of Fallujah in late November, 2004 I had my M2 loaded up with Ilford 3200 for some shooting of a poker game at night. I forgot to set the film door reminder and thought I had Plus-X loaded. That day I was tasked to document a project our unit was undertaking and I shot this and one other photo which was similar:

When I finished the roll I saw what it was and noted it on the canister then stuck it in the refrigerator in my office. Got back to the states and asked for 5 stops of pull so i could get that shot. All the shots from the night previous were wasted because I wanted those two of the mass graves. It was worth it. There were many more poker games.
