I have a question about white balance, because I'm getting distinct pink/yellow/orange casts with my Sony A7rii and A7s.
I don't get any discernible cast with my Sigma cameras (which I only use with Sigma lenses) nor with my Olympus cameras (which I use with Olympus and some legacy eg enlarger lenses).
The Sonys I generally use with legacy lenses - Tokina, Zenitar, Jupiter. I haven't checked exactly which or how they differ but this is a recurrent issue with the A7x cameras. My old A7 with the kit lens did not show a cast to my recollection.
I had thought that auto white balance was something the on-board cpu adjusted but I now wonder whether it's something to do with the lenses I am using - do these old film lenses produce a cast that the cameras algorithm cannot adjust for? Yet I can set a custom balance (I bought grey/black/white cards) which drastically improves the colour rendition. Or it seems I can adjust the colour temperature in Silkypix (and presumably Affinity, though neither software seems able to use those colour checker passports). Is it just that Sony's algorithm is of limited effectiveness?
Grateful for advice, observations or even what's normal working practice for setting white balance.

In the WB menu, select AWB, press right and you'll see a ABGM graph. Just make sure the dot is at the centre. Otherwise, some wide RF lenses might have colour cast and softness on the edge because of the thick glass cover on the sensor.

Thanks, will have a look.
I'm only using SLR lenses: 17, 20-35, 50, 135.
