Colour cast

I have a CanoScan 4400f, and am just starting to scan my own negs. I've been surprised by how much I need to clean the glass, but the biggest problem has been that it scans with a purple colour cast. I wonder if there's a simple way to correct this, other than laboriously when editing each individual image.

Is there any software that comes bundled with the scanner? I know on the Epson scanners, you can use software to correct this if it pops up, but it's generally better to use photofinishing software instead.
