Just curious - having seen (and been attracted to) Zorki's on eBay that come in red, blue, and green leatherette (please don't let my wife read this), are these by-and-large user-modified or were there really that many put out on the market?

Cheers,

Matt

I think the dark blue and green paint ones are usually pretty genuine, the bright yellows and reds are usually user mods. I think cameras after the Fed 2 and Zorki 4 (no kievs were different colored because they use actual letherette) were sold in different collors by the USSR.

According to some websites, some models of Zorkis were done in various colors. I decided to go to FED-2s for color bodies, and so far I've acquired an all-black, a red, and a gray. But I'm not terribly impressed with the FEDs, and may try for some colored Zorkis. Even if they are 'rehabs', they are quite attractive if done well.

I have a gray Zorki-C that I think is genuine. I have read that gray was an original color. Also Matt Denton has one just like it on his site.
