Coming to Washington DC and NYC 5/20 - 6/1

Not sure if you're into adventure, but there is a Days Inn in Queensboro Plaza where you will be only one subway stop from Madhattan. Its kinda off the beaten track, and definately not in a tourist area.

I live about a 5 minute walk away, but be aware that its is an area where sex clubs established themselves after Mayor Guiliani cleaned up Times Square, and its not only where prisoners from Rikers are released, it is also where you can catch the bus to Rikers.

Overall LIC is considered an artist community that's actively being redeveloped, but it has the good, the bad, and the ugly.

PM me if you are considering this alternative. I have plans Saturday during the day, but Saturday night I can help you get settled. Also some great night shooting is a possibility. Its not really a residentially developed area, a lot of commercial spaces, so at night it kinda gets sparsely populated.

Sorry if I misunderstand. It sounds like you are going straight to NYC from Dullas. Then will come to DC sometime late on the 23rd, being free all day on the 24th thru 26th, but have plans from the 27th to the 30th. Did I get it right? Do you know where you are staying?

I am staying over in Fairfax. I land, will sleep the night in Fairfax, then head to NYC. I plan to come back on Monday, I'll be free the evening of the 23, 25, 26 and probably all of Memorial day too.

It seems like people are coming to NYC for the scheduled meet-up on Sunday at noon, but some out of towners will be here on Saturday.

Also my plans for Saturday have been condensed to a nice dinner so I can abandone my girlfriend as usual and go shooting on Saturday.

I'm hoping you'll bring your M4 that has the MOJO from Iraq.

Also want to mention that B&H as a black paint M4 that is very clean that is worth seeing. $2.9K is the price. Check it out Sunday before the Meet-Up/Shoot-out.

How about DC area, anyone have any suggestions for a get together on the evenings from the 25th as mentioned above, or Memorial Day?
 
I'm free nights on the 23rd & 25th, if you come into DC.

I'm heading out soon. I have no phone at the moment. Might try to pick one up. I have Hellen, Cal and Tim's number. No idea where to head to at the moment.
 
OK, we have no plans for tonight, so I guess it would be too short notice. the 25th isn't a good day for me, but I can probably do the 26th, but would have to check with the spousal unit. I don't guess there is any reason we couldn't have different ones of us meet Mister E on different days for that matter.

Mister E, have you thought about what you would like to do in particular?
 
Are you in Baltimore? I forget. I'm in delaware right now. If so I'll be through there in an hour or so. I've had a wild 24 hours.

Summary:
Sat - Drove to NYC, Cal couldn't help me, I owe Hellen big time, great to meet Hellen and Tim, out shooting until 2am walked from 108th to Canal street and back
Sunday - slept from 3am-11am, rff meet. Great to meet everyone. Good beers, great fish and chips, met sherry Krauter and Donald at Carnigies, then later ended up visiting Sherry's shop. Sherry is great. Didn't sleep, shot the **** until 4am. Took a dump somewhere upstate around 4:30 5am ate a bagel 7 am shot east Trenton for 3 hours.

So no sleep, 3 hours driving left, need a shower, just ate lunch. Yeah, I'm ready to go shoot some more. Im up to shoot anything, but people are what I'm most interested in. I'll have wifi for 5 more mintues then heading nonstop to my hotel unless I hear you.. Cheers.

Oh yeah, I paid some inconspicuously gay (got no problem with that, just. Saying) hatian dude $75 for a rental room on the upper west side Saturday. Such an adventure.

Ha! Not sure I want to hear about that. But as long as they were selling rooms by the day, not hourly, it was probably alright. My daughters and a friend of theirs went to New York several years ago. My oldest daughter diligently checked google for what looked like a good hotel close to places they wanted to see. As they were checking in, two policemen came in and began questioning them. They told them that wasn't a safe place, rooms by the hour, and suggested another place. It was close to the same price, and better. Two policemen got flowers at their precinct when my daughters and their friend left. Probably embarassed them to tears.
