Sounds like a plan. Waiting to hear if Mister E is free, and where he wants to go. He mentioned people shots. In DC I am not sure. I guess anywhere around the Mall should have lots of people, locals and tourists, and be relatively safe. Lots of outdoor art as well. Anyone else have a suggestion?

I have a commitment tomorrow, well now today, but I think I can get off tomorrow afternoon (the 25th). I am guessing Steve Bellayr is talking about the evening. I am not certain about the evening. Looks like shift work to be with you. 😛

In addition to the touristed neighborhoods like Georgetown, Dupont Circle, & Chinablock, most of the areas of the city w/restaurants, etc. are actually pretty safe, e.g., Logan Circle, Columbia Heights, Bloomingdale, U St., H St., Adams-Morgan, Mt. Vernon Sq., Mt. Pleasant, etc. Even Anacostia is starting to come along.

I was tromping around East Trenton yesterday by myself. I'm not too worried about safe! I'd really like to hit Ben's Chili Bowl, even though I know it's a tourist trap. Got to get a half smoke.

Jeez, if that's all you want you can get if from one of the many "Howard Johnsons" carts all over DC. 😀 😀 Of course, they won't be Ben's Chilli Bowl. Never been there before myself, maybe it's time to try it then.

if the goal is local chili, I'd say Hard Times Cafe, just because the one in Rockville knows my order before I sit down. the original is in Old Town Alexandria, not far from a Metro station.

sadly, I don't worry about 'safe', or he people that might make someplace not, as much as I worry about 'secure', or the people who might be overly-paranoid trying enforce such. kindof a sad state of things.
