What do I need to do to get notification when somebody makes a comment on one of my photos in the gallery?
I believe there is a box to click when you post a photo.

Thank you.
I'll go and look and see if it's still there.

No, I couldn't see a notification option on the four photos I had uploaded earlier today so I uploaded one more and looked carefully but still couldn't see it.
I am at work so I can't go though and see where it is. I did just try to edit one of my photos and there wasn't a notification option. Hmm, maybe we should check the gallery User CP to see if there is a general button to check.

There used to be a check box, but it vanished somewhere along the line. I'd like this feature restored too as it seems ungrateful not to acknowledge those who make the effort to comment.
Let's move this to forum feedback as it is OT there.

i think that feature was lost with the last software chabges.
i assume it cannot be replaced with this software as this has been repeatedly requested and jorge hasn't done it.
i suggest that you contact jorge directly.

Agreed... and strangely enough, that same checkbox still exists in the sister site DSLRXchange!markinlondon said:There used to be a check box, but it vanished somewhere along the line. I'd like this feature restored too as it seems ungrateful not to acknowledge those who make the effort to comment.

I'd love to get this option back. I think it would improve the interactivity of the gallery feature of this RFF site.

Jon, do what I do. Check back to your own shots and see if there are comments. That's as good as it's going to get here at RFF.
For this reason I only post one or two shots at a time. I check on those only though, so anyone who comments on my earlier shots I'm unable to acknowledge their comments because I don't have time to check my entire gallery each time I visit.

Thank you Jan. If necessary I'll do what you suggest.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
Either an email notification of a comment posted.
Or a flag next to a photo to tell us we have a new comment.

Jon, I agree with your observation. I just work with what I get, it is what it is..
I don't upload as much since this feature dissappeared.

It's back (I think).
I sent a message to Jorge and he just replied saying that he'd enabled the notification feature.
On my five photos uploaded yesterday I've clicked on 'Receive Updates' (down near the 'Send an E Card' and suchlike) but nobody's commented in the last three minutes so I don't know if I did it right.
And I can't upload another photo to see what the procedure is for new postings to the gallery because my daily limit is maxed from yesterday's upload.
Please somebody look into my gallery and make a comment so we can test the system!
Thank you Jorge, you'll be a very popular man in here later when people read this.

Yes, it works. Jan Normandale just tested it for us by commenting on one of my photos, and I got a notification email.
