complete, at one

I've grown to love the Summarit- I did some candlelight shots last night, can't wait to see them.

It's also the heaviest lens I own..

Frank, use the TP lens hood when the e coli film arrives.

I use a 40.5mm filter with one wrap of teflon tape (plumbing supply) on the Summarit. Works great. I also found a Series VI adapter for it. I will probably put the 40.5mm on a J-3.

Frank. I take the "at peace" post as a challenge. Gotta find a Canon 50mm F1.5 butt...

Almost forgot! You aren't allowed to be at peace until I finish your J-3!!! You have to wait with great anticipation!

I've got this challenge going with Joe as to who is the master of their domain and has the most self control in not buying any more cameras or lenses. I haven't got around to mailing the J3 to you, but if that works out, it would be gravy!

Like Joe, I am now also complete and at one with my gear.

Sensei - how does one do this? I have not yet achieved inner peace with my gear and doubt I ever will — much to my wife's discontent.

I eagerly await your words of wisdom.

It took me 30 years of struggle and contemplation, and you want me to just tell you? You must find your own place, by taking your own journey. By donating just 1/2 of your annual material earnings to my registered non-profit organization, I will be a guide for you on your spiritual journey. OOOOOHMMMM.

It's a 41mm filter, right? Does anyone happen to have any of these they would sell me? This Summarit came to me with unblemished glass and coatings, so I'm going to put a protective filter on it and I don't care what anybody thinks about that. 🙂
I have a B+W 41 to 46mm step-up ring (available at B&H), so I use a 46mm cap, filters, and hood. The coating is not so good on my Summarit, but it has no significant scratches.

Inner Piece. That is what I need. An inner piece for the Canonet with a bad front element, and an inner piece for the Canon 50mm F1.5 with no rear element...

Hello Frank--I must have missed this in previous posts---
The two older Ms that you recovered are beautiful! They look new..
Where is the thread with the details? Camera and Coffee?
Thanks!

Paul

Thanks Paul, I did the recovering quite a while ago now. The leather kits came for Aki Asahi of Japan. I remember I was very sad when the original vulcanite crumbled, but it was a blessing in disguise. It is a very easy procedure to install these precut leather kits.

And the handle I bought from Joe. Very solid.

hey, i had the inner peace thing happening first. frank is just a hanger on-er...🙂
I'm going with joe's inner peace. Frank's use of a toilet paper roll + toilet paper lens hood AND the materialistic non-inner peace word "gravy" makes me suspect his inner peace may be somewhat... uhhh.... bogus... I dunno. 😕

There are a ton of wives who are willing to pay big bucks to whichever Master can truly lead their husbands to this peace...

P.S. ~ Frank, man... great gear. Have fun.

FrankS,
Glad to hear you're content with your gear. I'm getting closer but still have a way to go. And I honestly hope it takes a while.

What I am seriously searching for is the perfect hot dog. I know, it's completely at odds with my usual food sense but I like the dern things.
I was close once, I'd found a zen hot dog stand. I asked the guy to make me one with everything. He siad sure thing but it's taking forever.....

Sorry, but I get to use that joke so rarely.
