Today, I have received as a loaner a J-3 in Contax mount from William. His J3 is also a "COMZ" lens. There is a purple cast when looking at the lens from the back and not from the front. My J3 LTM has the purple color in the front and back. Robin's J-3 LTM has a light golden color coating.

In my exchanges with Brian he has talked a bit about coated elements front and rear, and that what I am calling "transitional" lenses are sometimes only one or the other. Today I received a 1955 KMZ (dove prism logo) J-3 with a light yellow front element and purple back. Focus is a little stiff but I will send it along wiht the others if you want.
