I have not used my AX for over 1 year. I now find that it is locking on occasions. The battery is good, so I am thinking that lack of use may be the cause. When switching between Macro mode>Manual>SAF>CAF, I can here the film plane moving smoothly. A technician, who previously worked at Contax here in the UK, does not think that it is "mirror slip". He suggests firing the shutter numerous times, and moving the mode selector lever back and forth, and hopefully that will bring the camera out of "slumber"
Has anyone n RF experienced a similar problem, and have any hints or suggestions re this problem ?
Thanks in anticipation.

Am I the only person in the world, and here on RangefinderForum,to own a CONTAX AX ?😉 Or am I the only person to have a faulty Contax AX ?
After posting this 1 week ago, I was hoping that someone would have some suggestions or a possible remedy.

Come on, don't be shy.😉

Sorry can't help.
I owned one for one month 10 years ago.
Chose to stay with the RX. Now even that is gone.
Although terribly novel and Creatively engineered, The AX was a very, very short production run and not at all popular.
I know of only a handful of users over the years. You may be hard pressed to find others on RFF.
