I have acquired a Carl Zeiss Jena finder Nr.24130 with bakelite case. I do not want to sell it I just want to find out some info about the finder. It covers 28, 35, 50, 85 and 135cm lenses.
So far I have not been able to turn anything up on the web.

Thank you

Quick photo of finder attached. It did not seem to match any of the finders on the very good web site.

Thank you

Page 3 of that web link has a photo of finder type 436/7 that has a serial number just a few hundred higher than your example. I think that yours is the same model.

Please forgive the intrusion, but this thread brings to mind a question I've been wondering about:
I have one of the FSU copies of this finder ans I notice that it has "24X36" engraved on the foot--as far as I'm aware, there weren't any other 35mm format FSU rangefinder cameras but I seem to recall that Zeiss made some 24 x 24 cameras and wonder if they also made this finder for different frame sizes? And the FSU copy simply copied the full frame finder as they found it?

Thank you. That was the kind of info I was looking for. I thought the Nr. on the finder was the stock no. not the ser. nr.

This may be a viewfinder for Zeiss Ikon movie cameras, I also have one numbered 10337 for f=2, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 18cm lenses.

The numbering system of Zeiss for turret universal viewfinders of miniature cameras is 3 number digit with or without another digit after a slash.

436/4 1932 black and nickel for 2.8, 5, 8.5, 13.5 and 18cm lenses

436/4 1936 black and chrome for 2.8, 5, 8.5, 13.5 and 18cm

436/7 1936 with click stop on the side

440 1950 marked Zeiss Ikon Stuttgart for 28, 35, 50, 85, and 135 lenses
