Contax G 21mm f/2.8 Lens Hood?

Looking for a hood for this lens. Someone recommended the GG-1 hood used on the 28mm lens, but I wonder if this hood will cause vignetting. Any experience or other suggestions? Thanks!

I used a cheap 55mm filter with the glass broken out. I remember there was an overlap of when a hood would vignette on that lens and when it started blocking the RF window.

Different filter thread, the 28 is 46mm, and yes it would vignette regardless. Contax did not offer a hood for the 21.

I shot the 21 a lot for years, never found a need for a hood with it.

I think a filter or a step-up ring is the only solution you can use without getting vignetting on this lens. I found a B+W UV filter which is silver on the outside and black on the inside of the ring, looks quite nice too.

I'm reviving this thread because I discovered that a Japanese company named Yama makes hoods for this lens. It is a rectangular clamp-on type, there are a couple on ebay. So if anybody feels like splashing out $300 for a lens hood, it is available.
