It's been long I have not seen Contax G cameras in the classifieds. I remember seeing some (G1+45mm) for 350$ last year. How are the prices in the market right now?

I see lots of different prices on ebay...up to 475$...I think the prices increased a bit because of the popularity?

I know depends on condition and other things but...

I think KEH would be good for getting a feel for what you should pay. They're great cameras w/ certain peculiarities. Some love 'em, some don't. They also have a number of things that can be an issue, so buying from someone like them is a good idea as they offer a 14 day return, as well as a bit of a warranty.

prices for the G1 are higher today compared to last year!
Interestingly G2 is nearly the same as the last years and also the lenses are similar priced

i just paid $440 incl shipping for a mint G1 +45mm +90mm. +TLA200 flash +camera case including original boxes, from the original owner. On the bay.
I got the camera yesterday and an very impressed by the build quality and feel in my hands. Cant wait to shoot with it !! I could easily imagine this replacing my nikon gear as my main 35mm setup.

Europe-prices est., all for mint articles regarding to e***-sells (private) in the past could be
G1 ... 120-150€
45 ... 130-150€
90 ... 95 -120€

No it was an auction.
I am VERY impressed by this camera so far.

In contradiction to what I have read on the internet I have no problem at all with the viewfinder, it's totally fine. I read the manual and have no trouble getting focus lock with the 90. Autofocus is extremely fast. If you lock focus before shooting (which i do from habit anyway) there is no lag. I really like the control layout. I can image this camera becoming very transparent (meaning not getting in the way ) as im shooting.

I'm looking to buy a 28 biogon for it and I expect to pay $225-250 if i look around a little.

There where so many on the classifieds last year that at some points there where 2 or 3 kits posted in the same week. Most went for around $300 for a G1 + 45mm. I really wish I would have picked one up at the time because I've always wanted one but didn't have the cash then. Now that I do I haven't seen a single one in the classifieds in months. I think there's been one complete kit posted that was body and 3-4 lenses but that's too rich for my blood to start off with at least. I think the 4/3rds adapter for G lenses has been pushing the price of the G glass up, but I can't think of any reason why the bodies would be going for more than last year.

The price you tell here are nice, but on ebay they seem higher :(

Buy it Now prices on ebay are almost ALWAYS at least 50-100% more than what you can expect to pay here. If they're priced reasonably, most in demand items don't last long enough with a buy-it-now for most people to notice them. The only time I find ebay worth while nowadays is if someone posts gear with low starting bid and you happen to be lucky enough that either very few people bid against you or it's posted at a time when few others are in the market for that item.

I picked up a brand new G2 + 45mm lens from a collecter who needed the cash just 2 months ago, I then bought the 28mm and 90mm lenses to make up a kit, after putting a few rolls through it I must say that I'm very impressed, my main film kit is a Bessa R2A + 35mm f2 Zeiss, the finder on the G2 is smaller than the Bessa but it's not a problem and the AF speed is much better than I thought it would be.

total price paid for the complete kit was £800, maybe that over priced but here is the UK that seems to be the going rate and I have to say that it's well worth it, the glass is superb and the G2 is great in use

I am going to sell my

I will look when I get home. I had 2 G1 kits and sold one/kept one. Quite likely I sold 90mm too, as I'm not a fan of long FLs on an RF. But I don't remember, will check.
