I bought a 1938 Contax III with a 50mm 1.5 sonnar lens
a few weeks ago from a gentleman whose mother bought it in
1938 in a photo shop in Holland that still exists and I just got
my first rol of film back from the lab and the pictures look great.
I experimented with the setting suggested by the 72 years old
meter and + and - settings, but this oldtimer still works like a
new camera and the pics have this magic that 35mm film still
has.
Are there any other members who still use camera's like this ?.

There are several of us who use the old Zeiss Ikon Contax & other Zeiss Ikon cameras.
Glad to hear that your Contax III works & that you can trace the provenance back to the original owner.
