Contax T2 Focus Question

When you use the manual focus mode on the T2, does the lens pre-focus? Or when you half-press the shutter button does the camera still need to move the lens into position?

Neither the focus wheel nor half pressing the shutter button extends the lens barrel.

I know what you meant. Lens only goes into “shooting position” after shutter button is firmly pressed. No other means to activate it, unlike what you’d have in later cameras of the same class (i.e. the T3).
