Contax TL280 on G1?

Hello guys..!

Been using my TLA140 on my G1 and find it a bit useless. of course it lights up the image, but need a ceiling bounce flashgun.

Does any of you know if the Contax TL280 fires and works automatically on the G1.

Confirmed.
They all should work just fine.
I used the TLA200 and TLA 280 with Contax RX and G1.

If you want a camera mounted flash with more features, any of the bigger Contax TTL flashes will do - personally I would recommend the 280, as the most readily available full featured (2nd curtain sync, auxiliary reflector) Contax flash. But lack of reflector swing does not really mean you cannot bounce the TLA140. It is strictly TTL, so you can bounce (or place) it anywhere you like if you put it on a Contax flash system cable, or put any kind of bounce card (including a 45° mirror) in front of the flash - when using TTL, there is no more need to keep a sensor on the flash body pointed at the subject.
