I succumed to a Contax III with collapsible Sonnar from USA .
It's in lovely condition ,but with a small dint in the meter door .
The shutter is broken and there are marks on the lens .
However is being shipped directly to Mike Hayley in Ukraine for
a total refurb and fixing , including stripping the lens and polishing and coating [ non original , but this camera is to use ]
i will also source a new meter cell from USA to ship over .

This saves me duty [ and agro ] from USA to Uk as there is no duty to Ukraine .
When it returns to UK , no duty !

I see it a complement to my Kievs , maybe the Kievs are a compliment to the Contax ?
The total cost will be in the region of £200 , which is fine for a Contax which I know to have been CLA , fixed and with a tested refurbished lens.

I wonder sometimes that cameras with broken shutters may have not been used for decades and retain their condition ? - whereas some Kievs never worked in the 1st place !

I even bought a very nice case for it , without realising that it was designed for a colapsible lense !
[ I am still having a Kiev 3 / 4 '' KNeB '' made for £100 , so I have not
become a purist !!! ]
