Contemplating an M4-p

A chrome M4-P, stripped and refinished in black enamel would probably be a beautiful thing though.

I've had thoughts of finding a beater M2 or M4 and having it repainted along with the CLA. I know you'd end up in for more money than simply getting a black chrome M4-P, but since I already have a perfectly usable M3 the second M body is mostly a want as opposed to a need. All of this is just rationalizing before the inevitable purchase anyway, thanks for playing along : )

If you do ever find an M4-P perhaps at a cheap price that you have refinished in black, do post images of it!

M4-P with a wider lens, and an M3 with a longer lens sounds idyllic.

My M3 is a great 50/90 shooter, can't imagine much better. And I'd love to get the M4-P just to weld a small 35 like the CV pancake Skopar to it.

Although I can already sense that I'd need to get a set of chrome 50 and 90 lenses for the chrome M3 to make it all _just_ so. Being an aesthete is a tough chore sometimes ...

I really like my new M4-P with M6 windows, so much so I believe I'll be selling my M3 , I realize I dont need two M's and the M4-P framelines are exactly what I needed . The M3 has those big bright framlines for 50mm, but it lacks a 35 or the 28 which i can see enough to frame with basically the whole VF on the M4-P. So I've decided it's time to move on from my M3. It's a lovely camera but one can only carry so much around and the M4 will suit me best.

Thanks to everyone for their help in the decision here , I got it from KEH and its a bit nicer than the more expensive one I looked at locally.

Glad you like it :)

Reg the M3, it's the perfect companion to the M4p if you ever consider using a 90 ....

Cheers,

Roland.

Listed the M3 today,
While its a great camera , I cant justify having two M's and I have some other bills to pay(since I impulse bought a collapsible summicron) , I'm keeping my IIIf since I love that camera. I'm not as attached to the M3.
I can always buy another M3 at a later date.

I will let you know once I get a chance to sit down and look at it more thoroughly. they are really just 4 corners indicating a frame
