Controversy over 'lost' Ansel Adams photos turns negative

Just a small correction--these images are 7"x9", but they mount up to 14"x17". Still a fantastic value, and they present as nicely as print (of the same size) from AA himself.

Just for fun, I went through the document. All quotes out of context, but I found -

It gives weight to the suggestion of another poster that the expert on "Evidence and Burden Of Proof Analysis", Manny Medrano, described as
"an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist and experienced trial attorney" and who boasted “I HAVE SENT PEOPLE TO PRISON, FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES, FOR FAR LESS EVIDENCE THAN I HAVE SEEN IN THIS CASE" should perhaps undergo some investigation himself for possible mistrials.

I had me an Uncle Earl, too. Was actually my step-mom's brother. Had his head runned over by a Model T, back in the '30s, was never quite right since. Became a house painter. Once painted his car with lime green, flat house paint. With a brush. Was mighty proud of it, too. Used to sleep on the roof of his house in the summer. Would sleep on the ground, under his car, when parked on the side of the highway for a nap, while on car trips. He said it was so's he could see someone coming before they saw him. Uncle Earl, he was waaaay ahead of his time, I tell you.

You gotta watch out fer them Uncle Earls, I tell you. And all this time, we thought it was Ansel.

If they are AAl's, they are his rejects. The Yosemite views seemed quite prosiac, without the dramatic skies of a typical AA photo. But perhaps the scanned views available on the internet appear that ordinary because the weren't printed by AA.

I was out there about 15 years ago, bought one of these to frame, and it was of course much lower in cost -- some of my friends ask if I had shot it. ;-)

In the dead cold of January, I did wander out to the bridge to hang with the other photographers, seems we missed the timing of the moon and remaining daylight on half dome by one day. Just fun, no one got hurt, or had any self esteem damage.

Seems his printer followed his directions, it is a good print, just not one he made, though that large original I did not have the $500 for 30 years ago at a local gallery has gone up a bit.

He had a connection with the Cleveland Institute of Music, giving them a very large print, which they had on display with no glass, but they finally took it down when it got damaged-- not sure where that one ended up.

Maybe in the guy's garage sale with the glass negs.
