A recent camera purchase came with this cool flash included, all I can find on it is the brand Opticon. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with these? or know if the bulbs are available?

I have the feeling that the results from using this this could be rather interesting.

Cheers

Wrong forum or not, you deserve an answer. I had one of those in my original collection, but don't recall what size bulb it took. After looking at the photos, I would venture that it takes M-2 or M-3 bulbs. You can find them in junk shops, at flea markets, and the online market places too.

Your biggest obstacle to using it is finding a battery to power it. Some of them took a 15 to 25 volt battery that is no longer manufactured, and there is no replacement available. That said, you could always rig something up with the correct voltage, or close enough. Look inside the casing to see if it gives info on what battery it took, and go from there.
