Coolscan V problem

I am hoping that someone here can help me resolve a problem I am having with my Nikon Coolscan V film scanner. I have had the film scanner for about four years, with no problems. Today i opened the Nikon program but the screen did not show the main control page. As a result, I have no way to preview, scan, or even eject film. I have looked at all the options available to me in the menu bar, but nothing addressed this issue. When I select the toolbox, it pops up on the right of the screen as always, but no main control panel. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how I can fix this? Thanks for your help.

Try reloading your software. If that does not fix the problem I am afraid a call to Nikon support may be necessary.
