A web journal recently published some of my photographs for an article. I provided these for free and there was no contract. I subsequently noticed that this web journal has a non commercial Creative Commons license on all of it's pages. Does this mean that I've just inadvertently put these photos into the commons? Any copyright knowledge here?
Thanks!

I'd assume that, if they say such is their policy and, when you submitted the material, you should have known that, you have joined the free image movement.
The big question for you is: what's the benefit of making a fuss?
