An article/ video to make You Smile...leave it to the crazy Italians, wink wink

excerpt:
”Italians have now been at home for nine days, and, from Bologna to Rome, they have invited their neighbors to engage in what they call a “Flash Mob Sonoro,” or a sound flash mob. Musical competency is not a requirement, and neither is possessing a traditional instrument. A pot or a wooden spoon can suffice, if only because their sounds will join those of many other people who, from their balconies and windows, are hoping to create a bond”

Usually my wife and I are discreet persons but in this case we broke our rules and it was good to have a short relaxing time.

It's gonna be a long struggle.

Finishing a week quarantine tomorrow after a flu, which was enough a warning to take things in another way afterwards. I will spend much more time out in the nearby countryside than in the town.

Bravo Robert, what is the name of the second song (after the anthem)? I remember that it used to be in some cassette that I listened to as a kid and never knew its name.
Music is keeping spirits up.

I have an acquaintance in Spain that puts some flashy lights out on the balcony and dances for the neighbors.

Great , how Beautiful to see the Two of You embracing Music, Life, Love !
Wish I was there, Thank You for sharing, Loved it ... ;)

Peter, you are correct. The most effective measures for protecting life during this pandemic are also causing a recession. Financial commentators are saying the world economy is entering uncharted waters as never before have all countries simultaneously put a halt to virtually all economic activity.

Have a look at the weekly jobless stats reported in the NYT. These figures are too recent to appear in the monthly US unemployment statistics. When the monthly stats are published soon, they will push a lot of buttons. Trading algorithms will certainly include labour force statistics.

This is going to be a rough ride for the world economy, it's only to be hoped that governments step in with strong measures early to minimise the damage to their citizens, and take special measures to protect the most vulnerable. I won't go on about whether I think the Australian govt's measures will be adequate.

Could be much worse then a recession, worst case scenario. Could be better if the summer weather slows the spread or the virus mutates to something less serious. Still a lot of unknowns, but you can't simply shut the economies of the world down for 18 months or two years waiting for a vaccine. Social distancing is key, yet at some point you need to get people back to work and spending or the proverbial cure is worse then the disease.

The Economy is a peculiar shared belief system, but it's success or failure won't kill anyone as quickly as a virulent disease or a fire.

As someone who has most of his net worth invested in the stock market, short-term volatility is part of the game: It was true in 1929, 2000 and 2008. I think if person is cautious about leveraging and speculation, things will be okay in the long run.

I had only one new-equipment purchase planned for 2020, and I bought it earlier this year before Covid-19 became a thing. For plain ole GAS relief, I've discovered that a well chosen old film-era camera or lens can be surprisingly efficacious, and there's less carbon-angst associated with such acquisitions.

You have some great music to sing.

Va pensiero would be so apt, but a little large for the forces available!

At the moment my thoughts are not with photography, GAS or anything else really, l wish you all well ans stay safe, hopefully when we come out of the other end of this some form of normality my begin. Please adhere to the advice, social isolation is part of the key, we need to slow transmission so that we can keep up and get on top of the situation. I wish you well, this is going to be a hard harsh long journey, in my 30 plus career l have never come across anything like it, l am a nurse in peri op and critical care, we are roughly 9 days behind the wave that has just hit London, two weeks behind Italy, as l type my thoughts go out to one and all, so far everywhere has been swamped, l expect that despite my units efforts this will be our fate too, but rest assured throughout the world people are doing their bit and hopefully we will eventually pull through. Prayers and thoughts to you all, stay safe, and wash your hands

Thank you for doing what you do in what must be incredibly difficult circumstances. Stay well. Best Wishes.

That was beautiful, Simo and Robert. I could probably do the same, but it would have to be a Louie Prima album.

Extraordinary time makes extraordinary people. Hats off to you and stay safe.

Damn, it has taken this to be cured of GAS. And I am getting tired of people calling me old. Piss on the buggers.

Many thanks, Robert. Marvellous and so uplifting.

Keep your chin up. My best you and Italy. We love Italy and hope that our holidays to Lake Como and Puglia at the end of the year will go ahead. But who knows?...

Keep safe.
