G, just when I was thinking about getting one they went out of stock at CameraQuest. I think their last price there was $220 or so and that definitely called my attention...
Yes I know I can still find them and even cheaper second hand, but somehow my interest in that lens faded away 🙂
It's supposed to be on par with the 35 2.4 classic, so you may check for reviews for that one.
According to: http://www.cameraquest.com/voigtlen.htm
The original pancake is/was optically the same as the classic. The new pancake has an M mount. Not sure if the optics have changed.
Cheers!
John
Do you mean the old the screw mount (39mm LTM) or the new M mount?
I know the new M mount is a completely new design.
However if you mean the older CV 35mm 2.5 Pancake... I own one and say it gives me great results. Nice punchy colour contrast with good bokeh and some say that this lens suffers from barrel distortion, I haven't seen any yet.
Sorry to be looking at such an old thread, but the Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 P (LTM) does not seem to appear very often. It's usually the 35mm f/2.5 Classic (LTM) or the 35mm f/2.5 PII (M mount).
Was it such an unpopular lens? Does anyone own this lens?
