What is the actual cost in USD for 220 Velvia in Japan? Thinking of buying some but would like to know the cost of the film and need to find a broker.
FWIW, what other 120/220 Fujifilm film is available in Japan only?

Not sure but I have not seen ANY 220 film stocked in Japan during the last 3 years I have been there. Strangely enough, B&HPhotovideo sells Fujifilm cheaper than they do in Japan.
Yodobashi used to sell bulk bricks of 35mm film and so it used to be cheaper, but that's not the case anymore.
If you're lucky you'll find a deal on old stock while there, if they are near expiration date they heavily discount them. That's a bit of gamble tho.
If you're planning on shooting anything while on your trip, I'd stock up before going.

Ah well, looks like they do still sell 220 online. Maybe some do have it in store but not certain. Check this link:

Has been a wile, 2012, since I was there. Then I found little stock or variety in 35mm and 120, it was certainly not cheaper.

This is what Yodobashi carries, but I don't think any of these are Japan only though...

So, about $50 for a 5 pack. Am I doing my conversion correct? Sellers on eBay are charging about $70 something or so shipped free. Any other way to get some sent here in the US?

You can buy from Amazon Japan. I just ordered Pro 160ns from Amazon Japan, 10 boxes, it shipped Monday, I had it in my hands on Thursday, in Baltimore
Here is the direct link to Velvia in 220

That's a great tip, but unfortunately the seller doesn't ship to my address--US? But that opens up other possibilities.

I was at BIC Camera in Shibuya on 2018-04-04 and snapped a pic of the film shelf.
The 5 pack of Velvia 100 in 220 format is priced at ¥4970.

PS: This doesnt mean that its in stock in the store. Each Kodak/Fuji/Ilford box on the shelf was empty. (I didn’t touch the others) They kept the actual stock behind the counter.

If my math is correct it looks like Bellamy can buy me the film and ship it to me for a cost of .52 per frame for 220. BH Photo is .67 per frame for 120. Developing cost from Dwaynes is .63 per frame for 120 and .42 per frame for 220. It seems to me 220 is the way to go. 3 boxes of 220 should last me through the summer and into fall. I still have a lot more 120 film in the freezer to add to the mix. I'm still working on a box of 220 Pro160NS now.

How much did you have to pay in shipping for this?
Do you have to have a separate Amazon Japan account?
Thanks!

I just noticed Pro160NS isn't sold by BHPhoto and Amazon list it as unavailable.

I still have some 220 film in the freezer, negative film and transparency film. I will go back to using some of it with my SWC. I may need a new back though.
220 film seems to being stopped being produced or the market offerings are quite limited for fresh 220 film.

This is a great deal through Japan Amazon. 4 boxes cost $120 shipped--that comes out to .25 per image. Might be the best price out there for 120 color film next to Kodak Ektar at .20 per frame ( BH Photo at 4 boxes purchased ). I have three rolls from a box of Pro160NS in 220 and there is no more to buy anywhere anymore. I'm liking this film more and more and just put in an order from Japan Amazon.

I received my order from Amazon Japan within a week of placing the order. Cost was still less than in the US. Better news though. I found someone to make the purchase of 220 Velvia.
edit: I purchased 4 pro packs of 220 Velvia from a guy on Photrio. Shipped Tuesday from Japan and arrived today! 2020 expiration too.
