Cost of Yashica CLA

Hi,

I'm trying to decide between purchasing two Yashicamat 124g cameras. One is offered for $25 bucks and appears to be in OK condition, the other was recently CLAed and is going for $180. How much does repairing these cameras cost? I've heard about people dumping hundreds and hundreds of dollars into camera repair, which considering I'm buying one just to test out if I like the format or not isn't something I'm interested in doing.

If the $25 one works, get it and try it. If you like it, a future CLA is optional. If you don't like it, you're out $25.

Here in the UK a CLA would set you back around £80 (~$120). If it were me I'd buy the $25 camera and have it serviced myself if neccessary; it may not require a CLA (if that's the case you'll have a bargain), if it does then at least you should have some sort of warranty for any work carried out.

$25 is cheap even for a parts camera. If it works you are golden. Hama quoted ne $145 plus any need parts last fall for average cla.
