First, some XPan solstice pictures for these dreary days:

Second:
Here are couple images made with Summicron 50 R... on the XPan:

The R pics were done with a R to Xpan adapter without RF focusing. The ultimate goal is to adapt the 28/2.8 PC to the XPan WITH RF-focusing. Why not just use the Fuji/Hassy 30mm? I have the 30mm, and it's very good and all but it's F5.6 and more like F9-F11 when the center filter is used (which is highly recommended). If I can get the 28/2.8 to work, I am 4 stops ahead.

After 6-8 months of pestering many people, I have finally gotten a shop (which specializes in this sort of things) to see if they can build a RF CAM. The 50 Summicron is for a prototype to see if the idea can be made to work.

So if this works, I will have at least a fast lens for the XPan that even works reasonably well for the panoramic format, especially for close distance. For the far distance, it's best to use it as a regular 35mm frame. If I can gte the 28/2.8 to also work, that would be one killer indoor or all purpose ultra wide panoramic lens :)

Will keep you folks informed. Perhaps some of you may also be interested in such mods. Since each lens will probably have to be individually modified, if it works out, I may just get them to do a batch of 10 50mm R lens at a time or something and sell them. We shall see....
